UCR Research Office Grants Programs
INNOVATION SEED GRANT PROGRAM – PROPOSAL DEADLINE JUNE 30th 2008
In response to a rapidly changing world in which research is increasingly global in scope, a very generous donor is supporting continuation of the UCR Innovation Seed Grant Program. This program is now seeking proposals for innovative and creative projects that lead to practical, near-term applications that enhance and have a high likelihood of significantly improving the quality of human life.
The Innovation Seed Grant Program is intended to fund projects that are found to be meritorious through a competitive process and that show potential to have a global impact from the knowledge and applications they generate. The funding is intended at this stage to (1) bridge the gap between concepts that have resulted from a substantial body of knowledge and the translation of these concepts into near-term applications, and (2) assist research leading to the proof of concept for the development of a prototype with high potential for future investment funding.
Up to three awards will be made, each limited to a total of $15,000 of which indirect costs are limited to 5%.
